Culture
Authenticity in the heart of the Dolomites

Funes is a valley that uniquely combines tradition and nature. Throughout the year, traditional festivals and farmers' markets invite visitors to experience the authentic culture of the region up close. Our mountain hut “Treffpunkt Zans” with Info Point is located at the end of Val di Funes, in the heart of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors can discover fascinating information about continental formation and the impressive forces of nature, while various seating areas offer inviting spots to linger.
The Nature Park Visitor Centre in S. Maddalena offers fascinating insights into the unique flora and fauna of the region. Also worth a visit are the Mineral Museum and the exhibition of trenches in Tiso, which open a window into the past. At “Naturwoll” in S. Valentin, where the region’s crafts are still alive, you can marvel at traditional sheep's wool processing. Funes is the first slow food tourist destination in South Tyrol and a member of the Alpine Pearls. The diverse range of activities and culinary delights with local products offer ideal conditions for nature lovers searching to slow down in the midst of the mountains. Whether excursions to the picturesque old towns of Bolzano, Bressanone and Chiusa or relaxing hours in nature - everyone will find the right thing.
